Are you stuck? How can you get unstuck?
Hey there friend,
We hope you all had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend!
Today I want to tell you a story about my 11-year-old daughter who got stuck in the middle of the forest.
First, a little back story. When I was a kid I was blessed to get to explore hundreds of acres of land that my Grandparents own. We enjoyed many 4 wheeler rides, bike rides, building forts, horseback riding, and so much more. We now live near my grandparents and have the opportunity to visit them often. My children explore the same areas that I did when I was a kid. One day when my daughter came walking back to my parents' house, not on the 4 wheeler that she was riding on with her sister, I automatically thought, "Is everyone okay? Did she get in an accident?" I was reassured that she and everyone else was fine. The 4 wheeler had just turned off randomly and she couldn't get it restarted. I was especially thankful they were safe after she told me where they were...in the same spot where my then 16-year-old sister got into a bad accident causing her to lose several teeth and break her jaw. The relief that everyone was okay had me saying a little prayer of gratitude and then I headed off to find her so I could help her get the 4 wheeler started. When I got there she was calm, just unsure what to do. I was very proud of her and how she handled the situation. I realized that the only reason why she couldn't start it was because it wasn't in neutral. Every once in a while the gears would get stuck, on this particular 4 wheeler, and you would kinda have to shake it to get it to change. It took me all of 30 seconds to get it into neutral and then start it. She then got back on and followed my vehicle back home.
This experience got me thinking, how often do we lose our way or get stuck in life? Who do we ask to come to our rescue and help us to get back on our "4 wheeler" after the tweaks have been made and we can continue on? Sometimes we need a little help or new capabilities to get us farther down our path. Sometimes we need to walk back to where we started, gain a new perspective or get a little help, and then we are able to continue on with much more clarity and certainty. I know for me I want to solve every single problem all on my own. But many times when I try on my own I struggle much more than if I would just stop and ask for help and then get going again. Sometimes I just need a new tool or some knowledge I don't have already to be able to solve the problem and move on.
If there is a problem in your life right now that you don't know how to solve, or you feel stuck, then maybe you need to ask for help or learn something you don't already know so that you can move forward with clarity. Even a change in perspective can help you see things in a new light and provide further clarity to your situation. Life is not always easy and the hard spots can sometimes overwhelm the good. We need the support and love from others and I hope that you can find that in your journey as well!
Take Care,
Christy and the family
P.S. I know I've said this before, but you have been blessed with everything you need to succeed. Sometimes your gifts help you add more tools to your bag. Sometimes your gifts allow you to use your tools efficiently.
