Be Still
Hey there {{ first_name|default:'' }},
With the time in history, we live in there is so much noise all around us. A study done in 2020 at studyfinds.com says, "All together, Americans are spending a whopping 17 hours and nine minutes looking at digital devices each day, according to the study. Over a full year, that adds up to just over 6,259 hours of total screen time." Is this serving us well?
How much time do you take every day to be intentional about not being on a device? How about taking time to be still? To "Be still and know that I am God?" Pslams 46:10. Since some of you may not be Christians who read these messages please know that even if you don't believe in God you can still choose to take time every day to be still. Meditate, pray, ponder, read uplifting books, or whatever else fills your cup.
To those of you who do believe in God or may just want to deepen your relationship with God, it is important to take time every single day to be still and know that God is there. He listens to us. He knows what's best for us and he is cheering us on. It may not seem like it during times of struggle as we all face suffering, discouragement, fear, sorrow, and all the other not great feelings in life but he is there and he loves us. He knows the joy would not feel as joyful without feeling pain as well. Because God wants to communicate with us and help us on this path of life I believe that taking time every single day to feel him and to sit with him in stillness will help us draw closer to him. To better understand how he communicates with us and how we can hear him best. Reading scriptures, praying, pondering, and so many other wonderful activities can help us to truly KNOW that God is real, that he is watching out for us and that he hears and answers our prayers.
Do you need this little reminder in your life? Do you want your kids to know how important it is for you to take time to be still and know God? I believe that the reminders we put in our homes will stay with our kids forever. They will remember the saying we kept on our walls. They will remember the times they saw us in stillness with God. There is not much else that is as important as taking time to sit and be with God. When all else fails in life when you feel like no one understands you or listens to what you have to say God is there. He is the only one who really understands and knows how to succor us. I believe there is no greater thing to teach our kids right now.
Remember, every soul is precious in the eyes of God and no work is greater than the work you do within the walls of your own homes!
Take Care,
