Hey there Friend,

The Olympic's only come every 4 years. These athletes work most of their lives for those few minutes of glory. Training for these events is no small undertaking. Some come dead last, some only get 4th, just outside of metal contention, and some get the gold. Would it be devastating to get last, or even 4th place? To some maybe, but for others 4th place may seem like an amazing feat! What about those who come dead last? Do those athletes deserve recognition and praise? I think so! They made it to the olympics! They trained, worked hard and made it!

Do we sometimes feel like if we can't be 1st then we don't want to even try? It's as if we place so much stress on ourselves that we expect perfection. What if instead, we learned to change our mindset. What if we aren't meant to be the very best? What if being dead last still means we worked hard, gave our all and still got in the game! How many other millions of people sit on their couch and watch, yet they have no problem judging how well these athletes do. Maybe, just maybe we can be the change we wish to see in the world.

If you find yourself comparing your wins to others then maybe you need to take a step back and give yourself a pat on the back just for being in the game. Give yourself a pat on the back for playing. This doesn't just have to be for sports either. This could be for going to school, learning a new skill, starting a new diet, starting a new business, or any other number of things. Even olympic athletes make mistakes and fall sometimes. In my opinion it's just about getting up and trying again and again and giving yourself grace through it all.

Take Care,
Christy and the family
