Our brains love to overcomplicate things

Hey there friend!

Do you like to have things just right? Do you enjoy cleanliness and order? Is there something you have been working on that never seems to be good enough and you find yourself redoing it over and over again because it's hard for you to feel satisfied?

If this is you, I want to offer a few things that may help free up some of the burdens you are feeling. This idea isn't massive but it could free your brain of much unnecessary worry.

It may be helpful before you start a project to decide beforehand what is good enough for completing a project. Then when you get to that point, stop. Don't try to go back over it a million times thinking it will get better if you just keep fixing it. Many times when we try and redo things our first draft is actually better.

It also may be a good idea to lean towards the side of simplest is best. When you start a project instead of trying to make it as elaborate as possible instead choose to do what is good enough and then move on. Most of the time the simplest thing is just as good, if not better than, the most elaborate thing you can think of. It may also help save you some time, energy, and brainpower.

I hope some of these suggestions may be helpful to you. Give them a try and see how you feel.

Blessings,
Christy and the Family
